Old Business
- Show Committee Meeting
A meeting was held on May 10th. The premium list was proofed and has been sent into Ba Ray. You should be receiving it in the mail soon.
Mary brought the list for Award sponsorship for members to sign up to sponsor an award. Let Mary know exactly how you want it worded for the catalog. Class sponsorship is just $5.00. Exhibitors can park on the field on Friday because there will not be a lure trial on the field. An AKC lure trial is going to be held on the same weekend as the Specialty show and Hound show in Enumclaw by another club.
- Versatility Weekend
The fields worked out nicely for the NAWRA and NOTRA. There was enough room for the meets. A good relationship has been developed with the owners of the Polo Field. 60 dogs were entered over the weekend and 60 dogs pre-entered for the lure trial. Janis has the money and will give an update on the expenses and income later. There was an extra expense for the porta potties and orange fencing. All the match items were donated by Shirley and Jeannette. The Ridgeback Club will have a new weekend ( July 5 and July 6) at a facility in Olympia.
- Picnic
The picnic will be held on July 12th the day before the match. It will be held at the Sweptson’s. Mary will contact Helen regarding the date.
- Membership
The roster needs to be completed. Mary will contact Peggy and see what the hold up might be for completing it. There was a first reading for the application for Rob and Heather Nichols. They are sponsored by Mary Downing and Aaron and Kerie Sweptson. They will be purchasing a puppy from Mary.
- Match
WWWA will hold a match in conjunction with the Whidbey Island KC, the Hound Club, the Saluki Club, the Borzoi club, etc. at Marymour Park. Jeannette is the chairperson and will need help setting up rings, etc. The judge is being arranged. Entry is $7.00 and registration is 8:30 am. Judging will begin by 10:00 am. The show will be on the soccer field.
- Annual Awards
If you want to do an annual award let Mary know. The Sweptson’s offered to pick up Charles Roberts award for 2008.
New Business
- Susan got a call from Todd Miller regarding Camille Mc Cardle, DVM, from Minnesota that will be judging hound breeds the Specialty weekend and would like mentoring for whippets. There was discussion about the need to mentor potential judges on the breed and the rules for mentoring. Christine will contact Camille.
- Education on the standard was discussed as a potential education program. There was a brief discussion function, type, etc.
- There was discussion on the need for new canopies for the events.
- Mary will contact Janis regarding the age limitation of the club bike and if the rider must be a member. The insurance company will be contacted for information on coverage for the person.
