Western Washington whippet Association Board Meeting on 2/22/09
Meeting called to order at 2pm at Chris and Chris Downing’s home near Monroe, WA

In attendance: Mary Downing, Jeannette Dorsey, Janis Castle, Beth Levine, Peggy Hewes, Chris Downing(Mr),    Also Chris Downing (Mrs) and Helen Brettell.

Treasures report- $1460 due on the Bike and Janis will contact Al for the payoff amount.

Discussion of the “All Around Dogs” program at the Puyallup Fair to comply with one of our requirements by The AKC for our Specialty, From the discussion with those of us at the Board meeting the seemed to be good support, but we will need someone to head this up .

Budgets- since no one had a budget at the January meeting and none were sent to Janis, the board worked up budgets from info of previous years for Annual Awards, Education, Hospitality, Lure Coursing, Membership, Web site, Property, Race, Show, Ways and Means, Match and Supported Entry Shows. Moved by Peggy, to recommend to the General Membership accept the budgets as approved by the board- 2nd by Jeanette, approved.

The following dates will be recommended to the General Membership:

• April 15th  Wednesday- short meeting and Annual Awards Dinner 6:30 pm
• May 27th Wednesday-General Membership meeting at 7pm
• June 20th Saturday- B Match
• July 11th Saturday- short meeting and Picnic at Mary Downing’s
• July 31st and Aug 1st Friday and Saturday- Specialty
• Oct 28th Wednesday- General membership Meeting at 7pm
• December 5th – Saturday – Short meeting and Christmas Party

Dates may be open to change; and times and places to be announced.

The following dates for the Running events were announced by Beth:

• 3/21 and 3/11 Race meet
• 4/11 and 4/12 ASFA
• 5/23, 5/24 and 5/25 Versatility Weekend
• 9/26 and 9/27 Race meet
• 10/10 and 10/11 ASFA
• 11/7 and 11/8 Race Meet
