This year we have a one day specialty only, and will support the whippet entry at the WWHA show on Saturday, August 5. Sunday’s WWHA whippet entry will be an American Whippet Club supported entry. Premium lists for both WWWA and WWHA are available from the BaRay Events website.

Then we’ll set up for the match – good chance to practice for the Specialty weekend.  During the afternoon, we’ll fit in some practice runs for anyone interested.  The weather is suppose to be great and hope to see lots of club members and guests enjoying the day with WWWA.  Club members, please let Mary Downing know if you are coming, if you’re not, no need to respond, we’ll miss you but needs to get an idea of our numbers.  I know a lot of guests are coming and we need to show them what fun our club can have.

There is a $5 charge by the land owner for parking, but no charge for the match or practice runs.

These are the actual written directions but a map can be found on the website for the Cascade Family Flyers.
Main drag through Snohomish is 2nd, go east on 2nd and turn south onto Lincoln, go 1.8 miles, cross small bridge over French Creek and immediately turn left onto gravel road signed Cascade Family Flyers.  Follow all the way back, under tressle, through chain link gate to parking next to field.  If you’re coming from Monroe, you would be on the old Monroe-Snohomish Rd. and turn right onto gravel road.

Feel free to include photographs.

This shouldn’t be a fancy formatted ad, but more of an informal report on your activities. Some members have shared their success over the course of the year in the brags section, but I’m hoping to hear from some of the quieter members too. It doesn’t have to be big show or performance wins, either. If you got a new puppy, or lost an old friend, take the opportunity to let your fellow whippet lovers know what was going on for you in 2009.

There is no charge to participate in the annual member report. Please send all submissions by January 31 , 2010. I hope to hear from everyone!

The weekend of Nov. 14th-15th is the Whidbey Island shows at the Monroe Fairgrounds.  Traditionally on Saturday, after judging, we have all met at Mary Downings home for a party complete with food and lots of dog people.  Main dish provided – bring salad or dessert to share. We’ll also provide coffee, tea and water – other liquid refreshments are BYOB.

This year I have a litter that will be 8 weeks old on that day, so we’ll do a puppy evaluation for those interested.

Everyone is welcome and if you know someone coming who is not on this list or our website, please invite them and be sure I get them directions.
