He had a good week as he got his Advanced Rally Obedience title last Sunday AND 4 out of 4 Agility Q’s (Qualifying runs). Making strides in 3 very different disciples in just one week, (or even over many weeks) takes a special kind of whippet. The next month, Gunner gets a 4th place at a hunt in California against very stiff competition. Congratulations Adele McNiven on such a versatile whippet.

I’m sorry to announce that due to excessive rain in advance of, and forecasted for the weekend, we will need to cancel the WWWA November 8 NAWRA & LGRA and November 9 NOTRA meets. We absolutely hate canceling races, but we have considerable concern for the safety of the dogs running on the saturated field, our continued use of the field requires that we not tear it up which would definitely happen with it being this wet, and according to the news travel will be an issue for some people. We didn’t want to cancel, but we discussed it at length and had to make a call one way or the other, so we opted to cancel for the reasons given, which we felt were more than sufficient and in everyone¹s best interest.

Ringer is my first LCM and I am very proud of him! He joins his litter brother HH Heartland Fame, LCM as the second LCM in this litter of talented runners bred by Pat Ciccarello and Robin Barry.

We were blessed with absolutely glorious fall weather for our October ASFA trials at the Roy Polo Field, in Roy, WA over the weekend of October 11/12, 2008. We pulled good-sized entries in whippets but not in other breeds, and overall the entry was below average in size but sure not in quality!

Our small but tireless performance committee worked together like a well-oiled machine. Thanks to everyone - club member and non-club member alike - who pitched in to make this trial such a success. The smooth teamwork enabled us to finish by 2:30 each day with plenty of time left in the day to certify a number of new hounds and offer practice too.

The potlucks were well-attended, featured some mouth-watering dishes, and the hotly contested potluck award was won both days by Jody Faldborg!

Congratulations to FTE Diego on his spectacular weekend, winning the breed both days for his proud owner, Angela Larson, and breeder, WWWA member Jenette Mackey-Gersich.
