I want to thank the WWWA members for inviting me to judge the Sweepstakes this year.  I had a wonderful time, the weather was perfect, and the food and hospitality were great.  Special thanks to Show Chairman Jan Leikam for all her help both before and the day of the show.

I had a wonderful group of dogs, both veterans and juniors, to judge.  Overall the dogs were  sound - a couple wide or floppy fronts but the vast majority were sound.  All the bites were correct and most of the dogs were well trained and happy to be in the ring.

Veteran Dogs 7-10 Years

This was a tough class - two wonderful guys - both with beautiful faces and in great condition. One had huge sidegait but just a bit too short in loin for me.  The other more moderate in length of body with curves in all the right places and showing like a pro.  In the end I had to go with the best overall package - Ch Morlais Imagine At Whimsy - who was also Best Veteran In Sweeps.

Veteran Dogs 10-12 Years

A lovely dog in great condition who moved beautifully -  Ch Windstar's Betelgeuse.

Veteran Bitches 10-12 Years

A lovely girl with the most beautiful arched neck and big sidegait.  She was Best of Opposite Sex - Ch Tivio's Exotic Wood JC.

Dogs 6-9 Mos.

It was obvious these boys were littermates.  And just like all littermates you wish you could take parts of each to make the one perfect dog!  Both were very nice puppies and big movers  - Summit Shine On.

Dogs 9-12 Mos.

A class of three - the winner Shantellie Tye One On - had the best outline, front fill, and sidegait.  The second and third place dogs just need time to mature and fill out.

Dogs 12-15 Mos.

The winner of this class and eventually Best of Opposite Sex was Taliesin Moonstruck.  A beautiful dog - lovely head with good width, nice curves, not too much length of body, nice front

fill.  He seemed restricted in his front movement but I was happy to see as the day went on his sidegait improved vastly and he was Reserve Winners Dog.  The second place dog just lacked the maturity and fill of the winner.

Dogs 15-18 Mos.

Daydream & Lovats Red Baron a showy, pretty fellow.

Bitches 6-9 Mos.

Summit Uptown Girl At Corliza was later Best In Sweepstakes.  A pretty little girl with a good shape, great sidegait, and very showy.  I had no idea that she would be the overall winner at the time, but in the end she had it all, continued to show, and moved big but in control.

Bitches 9-12 Mos.

A huge class of 12 with a wide variance in type and movement and that made this class very hard to judge.  In the end the winner was Bellhaven's Lady Elizabeth a curvy girl with depth and topline and also wonderful sidegait.  She gave her handler some trouble for BIS and had she not she could have easily won it all.  Second had a very pretty shape but she didn't have as much rear angulation as the winner.  Third had a beautiful face and eye and was a big mover.  Fourth had a good shape with good body but was bouncy on the go-around.
